Please don’t look me in the eye
& say that it’s ok to cry
If away you might clear
At the first sight of a tear
It’s worse when it’s a lie.

It’s not that hard to listen
& not bail as the tears glisten
Or at least that’s what I thought
Til otherwise I was taught
By fakes, & I don’t miss them.
