Very frustrating to see the government's thoughtful development of good tools that genuinely help people disappear -- this was a great way to show people how government can be trusted and an example I spoke of often in my public econ class
New, from me: The Trump administration is killing Direct File, the free IRS e-filing tool.
Users love it, and it creates incredible value for the public.

It's the clearest sign that DOGE wants a government that serves private and not public interests. 🧵

Consumption taxes (eg tariffs) impact those who consume more as % of income. Lower income, pay more as % of income. High income, opposite. Ergo, tax the poor, benefit the rich. Income or wealth taxes where the rate increases as the income or wealth increases are the opposite. #Tariffs2025

My view is this is positive for Seattle. We need more housing and the amount (less than 1k) doesn't seem like it will impact industrial activities. Curious what others think. mynorthwest.com/local/sodo-h...

When movie previews have to land the point that, it's "better in the theater" I wonder how long we will have theaters except as a few specialty points. I need to go out to more theaters.

I have family that have dedicated their careers in research that is assisted by national health grants. They don't get paid alot based on the hours they work but do it to help people and the u.s.
I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

“Pausing” grants means people don’t eat.
White House pauses all federal grants, sparking confusion
The Trump administration has put a hold on all federal financial grants and loans, affecting tens of billions of dollars in payments.

That has been my perspective. TikTok may indeed be a threat to US national security, but it is no more so than X, Facebook, etc, etc. If the US needs to ban TikTok, it should ban all social media for the same reason.

John Oliver did an excellent episode on this, which touches on that exact point:
