The example of the Memphis data center that was (by owner admission) obsolete when it came on line. Now they are building a new data center that is THREE TIMES LARGER. It is already obsolete. To make any dent it would need to be 300 times larger. There is a limit to how big you can build.

The main problem with this solution involves studying how the work to solve the problem grows with the problem size. Look up "computer science big O notation" for a detailed explanation. The cliff notes version: To solve problems like this the work grows exponentially as the problem size grows.
