I like his ideas but this all needs to be paid for. The city is in debt. Just taxing millionaires won't do it. We've all lived way beyond our means across the country. NYC is certainly no exception. There needs to be some austerity and an overall new spirit in line with his agenda.

It is actually a blessing not have these big piles of $$ flying around. A pact with the devil is just not affordable any longer.

I'd say it's both. Yes on billionaires and corporations evading taxes and being taxed insufficiently. And yet, we built a machine that suffocates too many of us and is just not affordable. A little deregulation could go a long way.

So the 25% that are not overweight have to support the other 3/4 of the nation? That doesn't feel right.

Ozempic should be much more affordable but people should pay for it out of pocket unless in some rather limited cases.

Making it available to everyone as part of their plan doesn't sound right.

In someone else's platform you are always a tenant, not a property owner. The same is true for Facebook and all the other social platforms one might want to use.

You can turn over control of your account to someone else. But that is just like handing the keys from a rental to another person.

Maybe they could take a weekend trip to Mars to get to know each other better. Let's see how Mr. Musk looks after 3 days with MTG :)

I don't see it as an echo chamber. For me it is a level playing ground platform that allows for kind and open discourse - away from billionaire plutocrats controlling the overall conversation.

Yes, we do need diversity of ideas - without cancelling each other. I think Bluesky can be the turntable.

It feels very tempting to say yes to this. Yet pissing Trump on the head is not the answer. It will make everything worse.

Maybe there are some ways to work with his guys and weaken the impact for all of us. We won't get there by pissing on their heads...it's at least where I'm at today.

It feels like someone hijacked the brand and is trying to bring it down asap. One can only wonder who is behind it. Catholic Church? Musk? Mossad? Taliban?

I hear that he's been promoted to the mailing room in the White House.

This message doesn't exactly align with what we hear from the MAGA world. The them vs. us is completely missing here...

Your message is simple, yet profound. And we should all carry it with us at all times. It applies to way more people than our newly elected administration would acknowledge.

The airline industry might well be the best example for government control. Without it we'd see a multiple of today's crashes.

Yet: many people do feel over-regulated and this needs to be addressed on a massive scale.

We do need increased understanding for government where it makes sense.

Expect nothing and assume the worst. This way you stay on the safe side and won't be too disappointed. That goes way beyond the travel industry.

Consumer protection will become something to visit at the museum of history and culture.

Heck, there is a snake oil sale down the street. Gotta go!
