The book republished the now famous exchange btw Lincoln and Greeley in which Lincoln says if he could restore the Union without freeing any slaves he’d do it. But reading the letter in full it’s clear he’s talking about the scope of his authority not his personal conviction.

Sometimes when I’m killing time I give ChatGPT old Learned League trivia questions. I’ve never seen it be wrong. It has demurred when the question involves something more recent than 2021, though it conjectured (correctly) about this one.

There’s no place to sit, you still have to rush to a gate when your train is called, and they use this giant screen for looping ads, not train departures. How is this better than the previous Penn Station? I’ll give it this: it’s not in a basement.
