Well we’ve got Ian Fleming, Ian Somerhalder, and Ian McKellen holding down the fort for positive references. My current goal is kick enough ass in the industry that I take up at least the first two pages of results and I’m like uhhh… *opens DDG InPrivate w/ VPN* 10% of the way toward that goal lol.

At one point, it was the first hit for my name on pretty much any search engine so that was a /super/ cool time to be like applying for jobs. Easily rectifiable, but not a fun thing to have happen. This was also around the time Ian Watkins first got arrested too so a rough time for Ian’s everywhere.

As for the pixelation, the character in question was always fully clothed, only the “horse” is implied to be naked. Technically since the pixelation exists there’s nothing to say that the horses are actually naked and that the anything confirming such in the game isn’t just an unreliable narrator.

I wasn’t joking about the inability to leave the room. Literally everyone in the store was locked down because there had to be absolute certainty that the material didn’t leave the premises. We wiped every single hard drive in the building that was being used for backups.

I suppose we can’t know anything for sure since we Valve continues to be evasive & the studio is giving their side. What I do know is that Valve and every employee who viewed the game would be liable and prosecutable if it /was/ CSAM & I simply refuse to believe they would take that risk if it was.

Should also be noted the scene in question has always been censored with pixelation for the nudity. There’s literally no visual depiction of nakedness in the game. Like, something like Room has an equitable amount of visible child abuse / trauma on screen.

If Valve thought it was actually a problem, they wouldn’t hesitate to push the big red button and nuke the company. But they allow other games to just say, “Oh no, this character is a million year old dragon,” and it suddenly doesn’t trigger their internal policy violations.

That’s the thing though. It was two years ago, clearly, it doesn’t /actually/ meet the barometer for CSAM. I’ve seen a room working on a computer that had that on there. It was immediately, call the cops, call the feds, no one can leave this room for the next 12 hours.

The original denial for Steam was over two years ago when they originally submitted the build to push through for a store page to generate wishlists. They removed the scene over two years ago and have not gotten any concrete information as to why the game remains banned.
