As a former TCAS engineering technician at the company that is widely credited with creating the TCAS system, I can tell you that a once solid technology has been cheapened by management who doesn't care about flight safety. Just the company's bottom line. I no longer fly.

Before my career ending covid layoff, I worked in the engineering department at a large aerospace company, often credited for the creation of the TCAS system. In my career there, that same company drove quality into the ground, outsourced many important engineering aspects, used cheaper parts.

This is not good. They are going to raid the treasury.
