Make sure you share those 'core values', Cam, otherwise they will try to deport us to who knows where 😆

The Victorian state liberal party just congratulated me on recently becoming an Australian citizen.
I was born here nearly 50 years ago...
Lol

Hey, heads up ABC.
If you think that the Black Saturday bushfires happened on the 28th Feb 2009, as you stated in #IWasActuallyThere,
I can tell you weren't actually there.
Bit of a shame that you cannot check even the most basic of facts any more.
It was a big day for many of us. Truth matters.

Who is joining me on #teamlyrebird?
Just check out those tail feathers!
Vote 1 the bush chook!

That must be so lovely for you!
I remember night drives in summer and stopping at each town to clean the windshield.
I remember the walls crawling with Bogong Moths.
Xmas 🪲 & spitfires everywhere!
I remember growing up without air-conditioning.
I remember summers without any smoke.
I remember.

You do know that insurance companies are designed to make a profit don't you?

That isn't a massive figure you are quoting.

If you think everything is fine, good luck to you!

Yes, hailstorms worry me. In the last 5 years the hail has got a lot bigger and is more damaging. In my area this never used to be a problem - hail used to be small.

Cyclones in Brisbane, bushfire season starting in early spring, glaciers vanishing, QFF in southern Vic. That's all new.

IAG delivers airline services. Not sure why their profits are relevant? Were you thinking they are ING?

Yes, I see all sorts of problems with coastal properties. Plenty on the news. Beaches are much smaller than when I was a kid.

Yes, Tuvalu is packing up and moving.
kmac-79.bsky.social
Yep.
I'm paying a lot more for insurance despite no claims - I imagine most people are the same.
Saying that climate change is not real or that it will cost too much to address is just going to shift the cost onto those that can least afford it.
It's already happening.

The Atlas Network influence is I think the most important and slowly 😆

Book #8 for 2025
A very important topic and a few connect-the-dots moments for me but I must admit I got bogged down in the long list of names. Bit of a slog at times.

And let's hope it's not a solution that involves pumping out more insecticides.
The observable reduction in insect numbers in my lifetime is terrifying.
IMO the grain-growing areas are the most degraded environments/ecosystems in Australia. This sort of problem/rodent plagues etc are not bad luck.

I think it may be the donations they receive and the promise of a well-paid cushy job after voters kick them out of parliament that is the problem.
We really need to do something about political donations.

I don't even get a reply when I write to most politicians. No money = no say

Total lunar eclipse.
Weather was kind given there was a thunderstorm early in the night.

The amount of people who are blaming immigration for all ills are either actually racist or wilfully ignorant of facts. Those who own the mass media, & the means of production are stealing from you & telling you it’s immigration. WAKE THE FUCK UP AUSTRALIA. Jesus H Christ, it’s OBVIOUS! #auspol

Sounds like another way rich people get to pay less tax to me.

Always exciting to see a new species in the garden.
Crescent Honeyeater!
Not a very common bird around here.
It joins the New Holland Honeyeaters, Crimson Rosellas, King Parrots and Eastern Spinebills feasting on the almond blossoms that somehow have survived the crazy weather.
Male Crescent Honeyeater (small bird - mainly grey with splashes of gold on wings and tail) sitting on a branch covered in white almond blossom

Thank you.
The cockatoo is feeding on wattle (Acacia spp). No idea what type of wattle though - there are over a thousand species of them!
kmac-79.bsky.social
How awesome is the wattle at the moment?
So nice to have all this colour herald the end of winter

Yes, it's crazy.
On a country drive I passed a lot of signs put up at farm gates against a proposed solar/battery project.
'Say NO to toxic batteries'
I mean, sure they are toxic but why would you EAT them?
That isn't how things work...

Would have thought describing it as a war rather than a genocide is a far more inaccurate and inappropriate take.

And do you really think criticism of Israel's crimes and breaches of international law is anti-semitism? That is a bit much mate.
kmac-79.bsky.social
I don't like Albanese as PM but it reflects well on him if he gets criticism rather than praise from war criminals.

It's hard to see a path forward for Israel. They will never be forgiven and this is Netanyahu's fault. He is the one who has betrayed his country.
