when i see you in Eagles paraphernalia and yell “go birds” the only appropriate response is to yell back “go birds,” or a variation thereof, otherwise you are an imposter and identity theft is not a joke.

it’s been quite a long week, exhausting, personally and of course, societally. i’m taking a long weekend to go reconnect with nature, ground myself, and reset. i hope that this serves as a gentle reminder to do the same, your mind, body, and (fighting) spirit need it.

I watched a great reel this morning, reminding us that we cannot be outraged at everything we see. Our nervous systems must come out of f,f,f,f. We have to envision a better future, and take meaningful steps to make it so. Channel this fear into action. We work together, or we don’t work at all. ♥️

This period will be uphill, one grueling step after another. There will be no instant gratification in this fight against hate. One thing I am steadfast in knowing is that I am on the right side of history, which will not be kind to the complicit and the sympathizers. “We shall overcome.”

Hot Take: Every American at 18 should serve a gap year of community service, unless enlisting. The lack of understanding of what’s happening in our own communities is a primary cause of cognitive dissonance. Serving for #Americorps at 18 was the most eye opening, sobering experience of my life.
