“If you have a better option I’ll take it,” Jimin says as he begins pulling on jacket and gloves and cloak. After a moment, Yoongi comes to help him, his touch familiar as he helps lace his boots. Jimin swallows hard against the sudden lump in his throat. “Until then, I’ll go with the foolish and desperate hope.”
Yoongi snorts, moving on to his other shoe. “And you’ll trust us to tell your father.”
At that, Jimin does wince. “I have a letter,” he offers. Namjoon sighs and straightens up.
“You have to write,” he says, stern again. “And if anything happens, if anything changes or you need help—”
“I’ll send word. I promise.” Jimin appreciates the concern, he truly does. Even if he’s the one meant to be giving them orders, not the other way around. “I’m not that reckless.”
“That remains to be seen,” says Yoongi, pushing himself to his feet with a wince. Jimin puts a hand out to steady him, but Yoongi waves it away. “I really hope you’re right,” he says, quieter. “For all our sake.”

#wipwednesday some ~feelings~ from my @kmcovenfest.bsky.social fic ❄️

“I used to actually be halfway decent at this,” he says ruefully, “if you’ll believe it.”
“I do,” Jimin says, aching for him. Jungkook lets out a breath.
“Ah, I’m sorry, Jimin-ssi. You don’t need to listen to me complain.”
“I don’t mind,” he says. He really doesn’t. He might be out of practice keeping company with anyone, but he’s grateful for it all the same—for the bitter and the sweet. Teasing, he adds, “And what happened to calling me hyung?”
“Sorry,” says Jungkook, ducking his head, but the dark cloud hanging over him eases. “Jimin-hyung.”
Jimin grins and pushes himself to his feet, knees aching.
“I can’t say I understand,” he says. “I don’t know the first thing about magic. But I’m sorry he had to leave, and I’m sorry he’s not here now. Though I’m not sorry for his house, or his cellar. And I was thinking… We might have a bath?”
Jungkook blinks at him, and blinks again, and a flush climbs his cheeks, and Jimin realizes abruptly how that sounds.
“Not together,” he hurries to assure him, a little warm in the face himself. “You can go first, actually, if you want. Just, I saw the tub, and there’s all that fresh snow, and we could heat some water, maybe, if you’d like, or—”
“No, yes, that’s fine,” Jungkook interrupts. “I can go—”
“Or I can—”
“You already got the dishes—”
“You made dinner—”
“Hyung.”
Jimin’s mouth snaps shut. His face is definitely burning now. His offer from the first night feels bright and present between them.
