Hello, I'm the writer of queer gothic fantasy that follows a blood mage spymaster as she recruits a noble bastard with a terrible gift to hunt down a magical serial killer for the vampiric Eternal King—all while planning to overthrow him.

Isaac, featured on the cover of LORD, is a trans man.
Cover for Mistress of Lies by K. M. Enright, The Sunday Times bestseller. Black cover, with a scowling long-haired woman in a Gothic style red and gold headdress and brocade sleeves like wings against a background of red and white roses. Her hands are tipped in gold claws and she holds a long dagger. Blurbs from Melissa Caruso — “Dark, dangerous, and entrancing” — and Sara Hashem — “A decadent story that won’t let you go.” Cover for LORD OF RUIN by K. M. Enright. Black cover, with a dark haired Filipino man in a Gothic style embodied suit jacket in shades of blue and gold. Black wings with a similar gold embroidered design stretch behind him against a background of blue with white flowers. His hands are tipped in black talons and he holds a bright red anatomical heart. Blurb from Thea Guanzon — ”K. M. Enright is definitely one to watch.”

Not long ago -- in my lifetime -- all trans people faced unspeakable violence, including state-sponsored violence, for simply existing

And self-appointed gatekeepers made it as tough as possible for a person to transition.

Anyone who wants to bring back the gatekeeping also wants the violence back

I wish there was a button to go back

whats scary abt the censorship wave is that we will have no place to "move to" if the new mastercard/visa mandates are applied broadly to the entirety of the internet. just yesterday i saw mangaplanet is shutting down their official translated BL distribution platform bc of payment processors

Honestly at this rate I'm gonna have to start a tournament for Isaac's hand 😂

kmenright.bsky.social
Okay 😅

Sorry about all that!

No no, that's okay, I am easily confused.

I just assumed that you wanted to discuss it cause you brought up weekly communion?

I'm just realizing that your first comment might have been meant as a joke -- was that the intention? If so, I am so sorry, I sometimes miss jokes.

Okay, I think I am confused --

I thought since you brought up weekly communion we were discussing the Jesus of theology? I'll admit I took a specifically Catholic interpretation, which is my own bias coming through, but uh

what is happening?

I mean, I feel like that is a little disingenuous -- while the host and the wine does get transubstantiated into his Flesh and Blood, he himself is still a whole being and not hacked into pieces in the way it appears to be in this anime

Mary Queen of Scots??????????

(there are not enough question marks in the WORLD for the amount of confused I am)
