Just look at any “what’s your secret” asked to a random 97 year old, it’s all just a crapshoot at that level. Bacon and bourbon might be bad for us at a societal level, but me, personally? Who knows.

Unfortunately this also goes into a particular issue with everything we know about health, longevity, etc.: we can improve (or damage) aggregate health, but we cannot foresee any one individual’s lifespan.
