I will add this though, if you ever find yourself protesting the protection of a marginalized group, I can say with a fair level of confidence, you're on the wrong side of history.

Most parents want other trusted adults to create a safe space for that to happen and that's all this movement is trying to provide, a safe space to explore who they are without judgement.

But children, especially teenagers, don't want to disappoint parents, they want to be secure and confident in their decisions before they reveal them to us; they want to come to us as adults in charge - people who impress.

Good parents want to know what is going on in their child's life, to guide them, and help them to make good decisions. A lot of parents aren't comfortable trusting someone else with that responsibility.

I completely understand the concerns of parents over protecting a child's right to try out their identity without their parents knowing.
