Hey, I'm Katie!

I'm multiply ND, queer and permanantly knackered.

I'm a community researcher on cancer service experiences of marginalised people.

I've published things and conferenced things, and now I'm doing a PhD around Autistic trans+ people's experiences of health and social care.

You can't be sad listening to The Aquabats.

If all the bots that kept emailing me about how shit my website is *actually* visited my website, my stats would be brilliant 😎

Tell me you have a four year old without telling me you have a four year old...

Picture shows me wearing a white Autistic and Living the Dream t shirt covered in animal stickers: a crocodile, elephant, walrus, zebra, monkey, polar bear, and a killer whale. All the classics.

#HealthyConversationSkills is about creating spaces in our everyday practice (and lives!) to talk about what makes us happier and healthier. This also appreciates that there are barriers to happier, healthier lives for too many people.

I am keeping my weekends free of work, and that's been really beneficial. More time with my boys :)

If you can't rest, then you might as well get paid!
kmunday.bsky.social
You've been very busy! Great work but make sure to rest too

I started Crip Kinship by Shayda Kafai today. It's been on my shelf for a while.

I'm twenty pages in already and seriously thought about taking it to soft play 😆

I think your blog speaks to the issue of autistic-normativity as well as more general conformity. I really do understand.

Thanks for sharing. Why would you not have the opportunity to contribute? (Feel free to ignore this question)

A neuodivergent, chronically ill trans+ person.

I also *hate* interviews with a passion and so many social norms that I dont understand and hate in equal measure.

Maybe I should do a postdoc...

Doing a PhD is its own full-time job. Trying to work out what I want to do once I finish is a whole other thinking task I'm not up for.

This involves networking, continuing my other research work, and thinking about finances. And the little thing of going back into work as an out trans+ person

You've done some incredible work with the support of some amazing people.

Hopefully, you have some time to recharge for a bit now.

I've got too many things to say about the ignorant claims about autism. And how these interact with the US government's obsession with policing women's and gender minority's bodies.

Instead of talking about paracetamol, I'll re-share this.

Fighting for the right to exist
Advocating for yourself and others – in whatever way you do it – is one of the hardest jobs a person will ever do. We go about our everyday lives overly aware that we live within system…
