I'm starting to think maybe Swen Vinke doesn't understand Generative AI and his motives might be less than innocuous.
Larian CEO says Divinity could have gen AI assets in it but only if the tools are trained on the studio's own data.

Nope. The closest thing we use is traditional “text to speech” to help time and pace dialog before it goes to the actors, but that’s the kind of tech that’s been around for years, and not generative.

Its very sad to know I won't be playing Dark Hersey or the Expanse game because of them using AI in the concept stage. It just taints the whole work entirely. Because I know for a fact that none of the visuals of either game were made with human intent.

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.
Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

No actually artist likes AI. The only ones who like it are the people who don't care about art, or aren't threatened by it.
Like man come on. Larian was on top of the fucking world. They could literally do anything and people would eat it up because they trust they had human creativity on their side. But now? That's all fucking gone.
consider my feedback: i loved working at @larianstudios.com until AI. reconsider and change your direction, like, yesterday. show your employees some respect. they are world-class & do not need AI assistance to come up with amazing ideas.

Its probably just me but when Larian does all the gore and spectacle it comes across as "This is all style and no substance." Why is it happening here? What is the meaning? I feel like so many people who played DAO who love Larian didn't understand that DAO.

So Casey Hudson's Humanoid Origin closed last year due to lack of funds and now the new studio he's with started in June 2025 and they already have the Star Wars licence for a new game?

Telltale games take the adventure style gameplay and imbue it with as much good writing and voice acting as possible. Using the format to deliver such interesting stories. Man I have missed them as well. Glad to see AdHoc did so well.
I cannot blab enough about how i missed Telltale style games, this just give something that most games these days dont, im so excited for future AdHoc projects and the future of Dispatch. What an amazing game, what a bunch of incredible performances, deff top 3 games for me this year. PLAY IT!
