I am shocked at how breezy and fun encounter building was.

The PCs managed to avoid failure, and we ended on them arriving at the island with cultists arrayed on the shore, and the children the cultists kidnapped nowhere in sight.

I deployed it as the PC were chasing cultists from the starting town to the nearby, cursed, island.

It was storming and there’s a sea serpent lurking in the waters. Failure meant the cultists they were pursuing would have more time to enact their plans & the PCs would have to fight the sea serpent

Honestly having it codified in the system made the players super on-board and willing to experiment within the Test.

I’ve run Skill Challenges in 5e & it always felt like they were looking for what *I* wanted; here they were way more focused on what their PCs would do. Very satisfying to Direct!

Custom content! Lit a fire under the PCs asses, using a combination of combats, montage tests, & clocks. The players are very motivated to beat these Villains

The group i was running for is currently running through the Tomb —& I’m a player in that game— so I wasn’t looking for repetition/spoilers.

Making characters used to be how I fell asleep, so it was really easy to rack up a loooooooooooooot of them

Also, I grew up a military brat and the idea of a Major getting up and telling 4 Star generals they’re too fat and woke is hysterical. His ass would’ve been disciplined so fast if he was still active duty.
