That is certainly a way to abuse the system. Imo, being a congressperson was never meant to be a lifetime career.

So in a perfect world, congressfolk wouldn't be fabulously wealthy and your thought wouldn't be a viable manuever. But I look forward to the first Congressional GoFundMe pages, lol.

I would be willing to pay congress people more (a lot more) if they would agree to Stop Trading On Congressional Knowledge (lol) and if they agreed to receive no pay (no backpay) during government shutdowns

But something tells me they wouldn't agree to either....

Smells like corruption to me.....
