Joyce, the Sheriff has already spoken out against enforcement. I know of a church that has been housing a number of folks and saw sheriff cars there the week before this started. I suspect coordinating with minister on how to keep them safe.

Yes. And I'm a little worried that here in Maine there is not that organization, not that culture of "joining" towards a goal. Combined with that - occupiers using a gentler touch - I fear there are a lot more per-capita abductions happening under the radar.

Here in Portland ME I've approach some people in one of the local immigrant neighborhoods, obviously helping community. Asked if there were volunteer opportunities. Get non-answer answers. Granted I am an old conservative looking guy. But it is frustrating.

Individuals making the isolated choice to violence, no. But in context of a well regulated militia? Perhaps existing local LE and state national guards as the kernel? Though probably initial round of pink slips for fascism/white supremacy sympathizers would be needed.
