Some of the detachments have stratagems that allow you to have one of your units replace the current course being used armywide with a certain course; this does not count as using the course for the sake of the army rule

as for how they are meant to be played I don't have a specific answer as the plan was for the player to interpret them in their own playstyle of these and for how the Army rules is supposed to be played, each round you must use one of the courses and you can only use each Course once per battle 1/2
