I tried to make an adjustment to my beloved B&O turntable. A wire had been pinched inside, and ripped out when I opened the cover! After much despair, I pulled out my soldering iron and figured out how to fix it! I've had this table since 1986, and I'm glad I didn't turn it into a brick!
