The context here is Vera thinking back on this moment earlier in the day after shooting a video. Rani is naturally very excited about it and gives her a compliment, but Vera thinks that Rani is lying.

CTA on the other hand is very prideful about her time in the war. She speaks of her feats fondly and despite being incapable of flying as much as she used to she would go back in a heartbeat. She has no respect for those who wouldn't. /33

And her clothes which are somewhat revealing makes people *notice* her. Even if she has some body insecurities.. having people acknowledge her means the world.

She is furious with herself for all of her failures. Her inability to become a success story–The underdog that wins. /31

Even if that something isn't truly herself. A lot of reptile women her age are tall, some curvy and here she is short and flat.

But with this 'disguise' she's recognized for a 'uniqueness' and not her weaknesses. Some would even call it cute that she dressed with a cobra hoodie /30

Just as ring necked snakes imitate other predators to seem more dangerous, she does the same. This hoodie makes her bigger, combined with her platform shoes. With that hoodie she's acknowledged, maybe not as a cobra constantly, but people see her as *something* now. She's known for *something* /29

It drives Vera crazy. If she was a King Cobra... it would help a lot and Rani's just wasting all that strength and potential. It angers Vera, but she knows it's petty.

But this envy doesn't actually stop and eventually she acquires her iconic hoodie (the one shaped like a cobra hood). /28

Rani is the glue of the SSSquad. She is the "main character" and what is she? A King Cobra. Despite being such an amazing snake breed and dangerous.. Rani doesn't use it for anything. Or just rarely. /29

(It should be mentioned that in the time after she was discharged she never brings up her time in the military. She views it as the lowest point in her life, where she was at her weakest. She's assimilated into normal society well enough (got clean as well) and wants to leave her past in the last).

But now she was known as 'CTA's rival' and consequently harassed by CTA's fans.

They got into a heated argument in the vc, reopening old wounds and Vera felt exposed. Because what COULD she say in the face of all her weaknesses and errors by someone who witnessed it firsthand?

This incident is what boosted Vera's popularity as a streamer. /26

It was overwhelming all at once and Vera messed up again, her fingers had cramped up and her character was shot causing CTA to go off. But something exploded in Vera and she yelled back.

She wanted to be somebody. And this gave her an outlet even with her limited audience.

Until that day she played 'COD' and by now it's been years. She matched with CTA. When Vera heard her voice on the mic it was still as commanding as ever as she ordered her team around in game /24

After recovery Vera fell into a bit of an addiction period through the years whereas CTA was having the height of her career in the military.

Vera didn't know what to do with her life. But she started faceless streaming and didn't have much of an audience for years. But it was comforting to her./23

It doesn't matter how hard she worked when in the end it didn't matter.

Being a veteran means nothing to her if she can't even bring victory back to her home. All the lives she took, all the people she's hurt... what was it all for? /22

It was a terrible time for Vera. She knew deep down it was her faults and flaws that got her into this situation. She is useless, is the conclusion she came to. She is useless as herself and definitely as playing tough. /21

She would wonder why she tried to be anything bigger than what she was. Was she so inconsequential that she could be replaced so easily? She trained just as hard as everyone else and yet... nothing. She almost got the people (not CTA) that she cared about killed, hell, herself included. /20

After recouping and handling the injuries, CTA was tempted to leave Vera's body, but was talked out of it by the others and she was taken away by a different squad and then honorably discharged due to her injuries.

The fight continued without her and for her recovery time /19

She would try and communicate with her team to no answer and quicker responded to and witnessed the hell of situation from the sky. She came in with the quick assist to help her comrades. But she was beyond furious at Vera. /18
