You won't believe what the name of their first label was :-D

I drove one back in the day and tbh, never really noticed. Fitter back then, other stuff was also rubbish, but mainly I guess: by todays's standards this is a small car.

Side note, but is this in the Netherlands? Yellow plates *and* a tow hook?
October 22, 2025 at 12:52 PM
Not sure why this is needed, but I'm pretty sure the Stellantis press office can assist?

Yup. Might have even nicked them from a Y10 while the X1/9 was still being sold? Gee that can't be %§* 40 years ago, impossibile.

Almost looks like it's a staggered setup though? 13" and 14"? Not sure. Bit too modern looking on the X1/9 for my taste but lovely to see one in the wild at all <3.

Yeah really like this a lot as well. Although I'd settle for non-boring use of fabric / colour in general. Seems to be slowly coming back as well luckily.

Bet someone asked an AI for "Germany 1930' architecture" for the background prop or location.

To be fair, it got Nuremberg Congress Hall vibe pretty spot on.

Need to pay attention with the next few rentals out of sheer curiosity, but are cooled glove boxes not a thing anymore?

Not as nice as a little fridge but still quite useful IMO.

Smol super car:

Big pepper pot fan, especially on Peugots. But since the man hole covers are missing here, quite like those as well. Just a very good fit, technically and looks wise, on period MBs.

Happy to report the French spirit of rebellion is alive and well ;-)

No new pictures, where are you mentally?

... From a pure coverage perspective, everything looks golden. But the AC chargers are mostly used by folk driving into the city. For residents they make little sense due to usage restrictions.

I drive a lot of EVs for work and end up using DCFCs almost exclusively, even in my residential area.

Not just any sedan ;-)

You see some around over here, mostly the #1. But on their home market (if once could call it that due to the remaining ties with MB), they are not exactly shifting a lot of cars.

Looks like it's not really more than the old EQ42 all new models combined...

What poster did you have hanging in your room as a kid?
September 14, 2025 at 1:10 AM
Unfortunately, it does.

100%. They're even bringing back the Edsel (as if one needed fuerther proof AI is artificial but not intelligent).

My hope is platforms containing the slop will do better in the long run. Absolutely nobody is interested in this.

Fantastic idea! Sadly, I think it's a tad too big to fit in the boot of a Clio, else a crazy French guy might have bitten...

Some folks made a model if anyone is serious:

No contest, the XL Sport.

Actually quite happy they didn't make any. Would have been as unobtainable ($$$$) as a Murray Rocket and as desireable.

Yeah. The text from the Joint Statement is vague, both on time line and actual reg changes.

As much as I'd like access to new cars without mandatory half working ADAS, looks to me like a broad "letter of intent".

Oh this made me look up early S3 prices.

Expected to see worse but still fairly sensible (at least for German market). Guess there in that limbo still where zero posing value overlaps with expensive bills.

Yup. I have a relgious aversion against all things xUV, but everytime I come across an I-Pace (they are fairly rare here) I take a second look. Bit of suspension drop just completes the look for me.

Can't tell all crossovers apart even without camo, but guess this is a new Benz?
