While exploring the Black River area, I came to Sandstone Falls. I focused more on the waterfall while still showing the evening light illuminating the forest behind the falls. The falls in the area are amazing to see.

Sometimes, you plan a photograph, and then it slaps you in the face. This photograph was one of those that punched me in the face. I had photographed "Keeweenaw Rocky Sun" not too early and was heading back to my car, a little track. I was putting my equipment away, and I turned to see the shore, and there it was. This lone Charlie brown-like tree near the beach. It was dark, and I saw the silhouette and thought......I have to photograph this. I quickly set up my camera again and had my tripod this time (chuckling). I then used this lone pine to focus my shot on this beautiful twilight sunset with contrasting blues and oranges gave me a feeling of calm. I enjoy this photo; it makes me want to stare at it while having a large mug of peppermint hot chocolate while remembering the sounds of the little waves lapping gently on the shoreline.

The rare and spectacular aurora storm that graced us a few days back was a sight to behold! I'm still marveling as I look at the photos, captivated by the vibrant colors I was fortunate enough to witness with my naked eye and even more so through the camera at Little Sable Lighthouse.

The aurora few night back was incredible! To see so many colors dancing across the sky was one to remember.
Pinks, purples, and green lights danced across the sky from this weekend's aurora borealis. One of the photos I have taken during the aurora storm we had this weekend. Truly a sight to see.

I traveled to the Sturgeon River and enjoyed seeing the different points of the river. Upon reaching the falls, I moved in for a closer shot. Being this close, you can feel the wind swirling, the mist of the falls, and see the intensity of the river flowing past me.

Here you can see the various rock layers and the erosion made by this river. It is a truly fantastic place, as it is called Michigan's Grand Canyon. I could have sat there for hours watching this relaxing view.

"Rising Above the Crowd" – now available as a fine art pillow!

During one of my trips to the Holland Tulip Festival, I found a large section of white. It felt like I was looking at a patch of snow amongst the tulips with how pure the white was. I went for a level angle of the tulips when I saw this stray tulip rising above the large grouping as if saying look at me! I had a great time there, with so many different varieties of tulips in different colors. If it didn't feel like spring beforehand, it sure did now.

Nothing beats the sounds of a crackling fire, the lapping of waves on the shore, and the silhouette of the Sleeping Bear Dunes in the distance.
After photographing a few areas around sleeping bear dunes, I drove to a nearby beach. I saw a friendly roaring beach fire nearby with the dunes of Sleeping Bear in the distance. I experimented with a few second shots to get the red glowing embers underneath the fire. But nothing is better to hear than the sounds of a crackling fire, the gentle lapping of waves on the shore, and the silhouette of the Sleeping Bear Dunes in the distance.

One day we decided to leave for the Upper Peninsula heading north around 10 pm. Upon arriving at the Mackinac Bridge around 3:30 am, I set up along the shore of the Strait of Mackinac. Seeing the Mackinac lit up was a sight to see, as well as the lights reflecting off the water as if it was dancing.
We decided to leave and help up for the autumn colors of the Upper Peninsula with us, heading north around 10 pm. Upon arriving at the Mackinac Bridge around 3:30 am, I set up along the shore of the Strait of Mackinac and liked this exciting angle. Seeing the Mackinac lit up was a sight to see, as well as the lights of red, yellows, and blues reflecting off the water as if it was dancing.
