Night owls do better, when the hours they need to be awake or asleep line up for them. Sure, that’s less daylight savings than, say, work hours.

Call me crazy, but if we wanted a fair tax system then taxpayers wouldn't pay the feds: they would pay their state who would remit to the feds. That way if a state wanted to, say, cut costs and send a tax bill that can be contested, instead of relying on people to pay third parties, they could.

Not for me. More expensive design with increased risk of failure. Neat for those who need more screens in their lives.

Maybe, just maybe, Nintendo saw the potential for very high demand (see their hesitation on presale prices), and to maximize throughput for the least cost and lower demand, they went with generic colors at launch.

Solar and wind are things that strike me as important not merely for energy, but for independence: this opens up more need to rely on technology to mitigate side effects of other energy sources while also having to import more.

But you can’t as easily burn your house down with LEDs!

Why do you think that so few want kids? They lack a village, aren’t comfortable around others, and if they can afford kids they would generally rather enjoy the breaks life gave them than to have another generation

That sounds like the board game life to me: goes to look for a game only to find the odds are reasonable it is out of print and not coming back.

Serious bummer as such technology is huge for quality of life and possibly long term health outcomes.

Believable, last checked 3D printed meat would be way more expensive than one would expect to find inside a can of nutrient slop.

In this economy, this is some very welcome news. Generally thinking, I don’t get why when things like this that ensure more people can live happily and free would bother others. Be like being bothered by what a customer does with a cake you sell them.

Can’t see how employees would expect a return to office requirement. Be like telling them they need to buy vehicles and spend more hours working, unpaid.

These days I suspect Linux would be quite viable for me. Research the hardware that it would run well enough on, buy and set it all up. In the years to come, if I've the time to handle when it presents challenges, I could see going for it. Linux is a tinkerer's paradise.

Best of luck, and hope the year finds you well. In college I gave Linux a go, months on reviews and trying out different distributions. In the end my viable choices for something to do light research, read and write papers, and some web shopping was either a WinPC or Mac (on laptop).

Reminds me of The Hobbit, while they are enjoying The Shire.

Can't tell if it's meant to be a dig at the movie, or highlighting how fantastic their fanbase is for cosplay.
