Just your average (or so I think) gryphon living their best (beast?) life in Japan. Been here for some time, though my language skills don't reflect that well. >.< I'm working on it, I swear!

JMoF2025 was awesome!

My sociables - https://korphyn.carrd.co/
Been doing a bit of fursuit prep for #JMoF2026 and am having a go at making eyelids. They're just 3D printed in black right now, but once I get the size right I'll be putting black felt on them. They're held in place with magnets, so I can go upper, lower, both, or none.

Did a little more testing based on some feedback I got and printed up some heads in each color with a white background. Definitely makes the details show a little better, and having some white show through looks pretty nice.

Potential rare/shiny/unicorn variant - pure white, except for the QR code.

Yeah, I could do everything in white, but then it wouldn't be scannable. I tried a silver in white version, but that wouldn't scan.

Got my first batch of Con Coin samples done!

The layer painting took a bit of figuring out, but now I can print as many as I need, in whatever color combinations I like.

Now I just need to decide how many I'll need for JMoF. I'm tempted to make some rare variants, but am not sure about that yet.

I added an AMS 2 Pro to my 3D printing setup this week. Being able to print in more than 1 color at a time is a huge upgrade!

I had the chance to go to Saiboku - www.saiboku.co.jp - yesterday and it was amazing!

It's a "pork theme park" in Saitama, where the focus is on food. We just ate in the restaurant and did some shopping, but it was still well worth the trip.

Can't wait to go again!

I found some serious r/foundsatan fodder at Five Below today.

New variant fursona, coming online - and into the physical world - in 2026!

(Currently undergoing testing/debugging.)

It is a bit of work, but not a ton. Getting the heads side to look how I wanted was the biggest job. Between redesigns and test prints, that took about 8 hours. Now that it's done, I can crank out a bunch at once.

Here's the assembler, along with heads and ring prints. I'll do more QRs later.

I'd been thinking about making stickers or cards to share at cons, but then remembered getting challenge coins when I was in the military. I've got a 3-D printer, so why not make a furry version of those?

So I did!

Headshot on one side and a scannable QR code on the other.

In addition to leaning my way around 3-D printing, I've also been doing some simple coding.

Here's my first attempt at a digital con badge, which will probably get its first two-world use at JMoF 2026 in January.

An earlier attempt didn't work so well (detached from the print bed), but enough got printed that what I got looked like a bad transporter mishap. Ouch!

More Protogen printing!

A friend suggested rotating the model in the slicer to make the thinner areas stronger. It seemed to work, and the print with supports looks very "fresh out of the vat." The support material looks like a lot, but it's mostly hollow.

Further adventures in 3-D printing!

I did a couple if upgrades yesterday - direct drive setup and swapped the plastic extruder parts for metal ones. One calibration cube and a few cali-dragons later, everything was coughing along nicely.
August 26, 2025 at 11:48 AM
Finally sat down and started learning my way around 3-D printing. I think I've just about got things dialed in to where things come out decent enough that I can stop printing calibration models.

Figured I'd give my settings a proper test with this little Protogen.

Alaska does NOT mess around when it comes to warning signs.

Aside from saying "The bears will fucking kill you!" I don't see how much more plainly they could spell things out.

Hands down, the best restaurant/food truck name I've seen in a long time. The soup and grilled cheese were phenomenal.

If you find yourself in Seward, Alaska, do yourself a favor and drop by.

TF you mean “mostly sunny”?!? Don’t you know what time it is?

Went to the mall to get contacts yesterday and they had an animatronic T-Rex set up to promote the new Jurassic World movie. Not life-sized obviously, but still well-made. So much so that parents were parking strollers in front of it and filming the reactions of their toddlers.

Sorry, but I can't recall what country you're in. If it's the US, my partner has had good luck with the CVS "less drowsy formula" for flying. If you're not in the US, the active ingredient of those is 25mg Meclizine, in case that's helpful.

I wasn't one of them, but there were some suiters in more than just fur at Tokyo Kemono Festival a few weeks ago. First time for this one-day minicon, with around 170 attendees and over half with suits. Small and cozy, and easy to chat with others. I hope they do it again next year!

I discovered this chicken shop yesterday, and am very glad I did! I tried their umashio and ginger varieties. Both were excellent, and I want more!

After looking up the chain online, I realized that they had a location across the street from the hotel I stayed in during JMoF. How did I miss that?!?

Tokyo Kemono Festival was very cool! It was a smaller event, with only about 170 people in attendance, but there were closer to 100 fursuiters, which is way above the typical ratio for a con.

I had a a lot of fun, make some new friends, and got great photos.
