really bad- like astoundingly bad. Poor CXS! But I can't see that happening either. One last thing to point out (with a tangent) is that Liu Xiao mentions how he wants to make the 'uncertain, certain' and is obviously messing with things. So are some death nodes uncertain?

So I am hoping there is a way forward through this where they both survive. And none of that going back in time and not meeting each other to save CXS because there's all sorts of issues with that. One, also predictable. But two, CXS would still get powers and probably mess things up

seems like they can and will come up with another way/ another path. There is a lot we don't know about these powers and what they can do. And although it's a donghua, in many anime/ video games/stories etc... it's all about defying destiny and creating your own fate.

and why I could see it going that way, is also because how much would it drive them crazy if they could prevent death and tragedies but they're only 2 (now 3?) people and they'd have so many people to help they could never ever do it. And they'd be heartbroken over it.
