Reminder: they're STILL taking all of our work + we STILL need (especially Cali) signatures on the petition supporting Bill AB412 - the AI Copyright Transparency Act.

TLDR= this'll require transparency about what's in AI datasets!

Signing takes 1 min. Once done, PLEASE SHARE!! tinyurl.com/4uxbp963

Tho I am finding out that apparently she might have been an Effective Altruist? And after finding out who Bostrom is, not a fan of quoting him 😭

Not great but still think overall the message is good. Regardless we push for good regulation that is backed by unions and artists orgs like AB-412!

Reply so good, needed to add it to the thread! Thank you! :D

1,
We as the people do have the power to stop ai in everyway. But also ai is lossing a lot of power as well, in generate power but mainly money it cost billions of dollars to run these insult to life it self & they can't make a profit off it. Don't just vote alone vote with your wallet as well!.
kortizart.bsky.social
I will note the info at the end, that his wife worked at OpenAi but stepped down in 2023. She has since called for regulation against Ai companies which is good.

Not ideal but the world is messy, messengers will never be perfect and people grow! Above all tho, solidarity. Let’s organize and win!
kortizart.bsky.social
Midterms next year, pay attention to which of your representatives takes money from AI Superpacs.

If they do, let them know you will immediately organize to vote them out! Organize and elevate candidates who say no to Big Ai/Tech Superpacs!

It really works!
kortizart.bsky.social
Whichever one pays more attention, either the people or the money, and whichever is more engaged, wins. Again, this is true for this current era as well. Perhaps even more so now.

So please listen to this video, follow pending state laws, advocate for them, regulate this nonsense, and with-

No joke, I’ve spoken with lawmakers from all parties. Both federal and local governments is swayed by two things only: Public Will/Outrage and Money.

Politicians will look at which side is more actively invested, engaged and working towards an issue:

The people or the money?
kortizart.bsky.social
This , this, 1000% this!

GenAi companies, wether they be OpenAi, Meta, Google and so on, are absolutely out of control.

However, WE have so much power in our hands if we just pay attention, call, send letters, and vote! Yes, even in this messed up era.

Mark Zuckerberg has a vision for how A.I. could be used in Meta's universe.

But the actor and filmmaker Joseph Gordon-Levitt is here to point out a flaw in the technology: an apparent lack of guardrails around how the company's chatbot interacts with underage users. nyti.ms/3ILwCNo

Clarifying here this isn’t about using the works—it’s more insane. They claim they just have the right to use them/train, that theft already happened. This is about OUTPUTTING infringing material. It’s not even a fair use question it’s just plain-as-day illegal
kortizart.bsky.social
Oh god, it’s worse. This is Open Ai dictating to the studios they can “opt out” of OUTPUTS. This isn’t even about the training, as Open Ai thinks it’s all theirs to use for free.

The hubris of these thieves is just obscene. I can’t see them not getting sued for this, it’s just that ridiculous.
The new process would mean movie studios and other intellectual property owners would have to explicitly ask OpenAl not to include their copyrighted material in videos
Sora creates, according to the report.
kortizart.bsky.social
Omg wow…its even worse. These folks are deranged
kortizart.bsky.social
Honestly would not be surprised if lawsuits emerged immediately just from this alone. This tactic from them is insane
kortizart.bsky.social
Like what do you mean studios now have to scramble, stop their work, to instead specify all the thousands of works OpenAi cannot use, or else Open Ai gets to use copyrighted works FOR FREE if they don’t meet Open Ai’s deadline?

And what about the people Open Ai isn’t reaching out to?

Absurd.
kortizart.bsky.social
Ridiculous and appalling that Open Ai, amongst other GenAi companies, think they can dictate how THEY use OUR works.

No, Open Ai, it should not be authors and copyright holders opting out of your exploitative models. It should be you, Open Ai, asking authors and copyright holders to opt IN.
OpenAI's new Sora video generator to require copyright holders to opt out, WSJ reports
OpenAI is planning to release a new version of its Sora video generator that creates videos featuring copyrighted material, unless copyright holders opt out of having their work appear, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

I think so, yes. The tech itself will remain but unlikely it will remain as is IMO

*The AI boom = one of the costliest building sprees in world history

* Past 3 years' commitments are greater than the cost of building the U.S. interstate highway system

* Consumers must spend $800 billion on AI within a few years, to justify investment from 2023-24

www.wsj.com/tech/ai/ai-b...
This week, consultants at Bain & Co. estimated the wave of AI infrastructure spending will require $2 trillion in annual AI revenue by 2030. By comparison, that is more than the combined 2024 revenue of Amazon, Apple, Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta and Nvidia, and more than five times the size of the entire global subscription software market.

Morgan Stanley estimates that last year there was around $45 billion of revenue for AI products. The sector makes money from a combination of subscription fees for chatbots such as ChatGPT and money paid to use these companies’ data centers.

How the tech sector will cover the gap is “the trillion dollar question,” said Mark Moerdler, an analyst at Bernstein.

“reality did a lot of damage against ai for a long time” there, i fixed it for you 💖

Oh also, remember when Open Ai’s ex CTO made this face when asked what training went into Sora?

Here’s an in-depth reporting to give us one to answer to that question and to why the CTO had that “😬” face.

Spoiler Alert: The training is all ill-gotten works that Open AI has 0 business using!
Ex CTO of Open AI’s, Mira Murati, has an uncomfortable and awkward reaction when asked what training went into making their GenAi video model, Sora.
