Life is full of distractions. I’m finding as time moves forward, this becomes more and more true. I’m starting to wonder if the number of distractions is increasing, or I’m just getting worse at handling them.

New art: a thumbs up sticker for my personal sticker pack. I overdid the shading a bit, but it’s helping me to learn Procreate a little more. It’s a bit of a tough piece of software to work with. But I’m getting better I think

The Paws and Effect show was great at AFC. The songs were clever and the performance was spirited. As an artist, some of the songs hit pretty close to home. Awesome show, guys! #AFC2025

Managing self stress: Restraining myself is stressful. Exercising constant willpower over myself uses a lot of energy and therefore depletes my resources for managing stress. Does that mean I can let myself be myself now and again? For mental health?

I Guess the bigger question for me, other than the regular business of profit vs cost and all of that is: Can I live off of my art in any meaningful way?

One of my favorite movies of all time, Crimson Tide is free to watch on YouTube right now. Do yourselves a favor, go watch this movie. It's probably one of the finest examples of 90's action movies, great story, great actors, no BS. Also, RIP Gene Hackman, one of the greats.

Blender has definitely got its quirks, but some things are starting to make a little more sense. Nearly through with the chair tutorial. UV mapping will surely take some more practice. Will it be a good replacement for Maya for me? Time will tell.

This guy gets it. The industry that I’ve worked in, trained for, and wanted to remain in is not what it was. Stability is a thing of the past, layoffs are prevelant, and AI is absolutelyplaying a role.

There seems to be a trend in interviews where the interviewer asks "Do you have any questions for me?" This is so unnerving, especially when it's an unexpected interview, being put on the spot immediately to try and come up with a question that doesn't sound dumb.
