I don’t know. Maybe. I am disabled and stay home most of the time. The effort to go across the street in my wheelchair to do some shopping has become too painful. So maybe I’m just not gaining enough experience anymore.

I agree that self checkouts hoist the drudgery onto the customers. As I’ve tried to do self checkout from my wheelchair I found the experience too difficult, and was grateful for human assistance. But I do think the technology will eventually give customers effortless self checkout.

We Can continue to adapt, as a species, to Enable us to have ever better quality of life. We Should embrace the Freedom of modern automation. I also believe we can only do that by Abolishing the Capitalist Rapacious Oligarchy we now live in. Yes, currently, we are chattel led to the slaughter.
