It doesn’t have the buff removals and extra bonuses that it has in the remake IIRC.

How does it feel seeing Odin from GoW Ragnarok as Toby

#6 - APOTHECARY DIARIES (SEASON 2): 9/10

The way this season builds upon itself in terms of the central mystery and conspiracy is pretty incredible, and just as gorgeous as ever. Another century of Mao Mao, her and Jinshi’s dynamic is simply addictive and something you can never tire of.

#5 - MY DRESS UP DARLING (SEASON 2): 9.5/10

This season has so much money it makes you worried it’s part of some embezzlement scheme. Love the expansion of the core cast we saw this season, giving Marin and Gojo more opportunity to bounce off other characters. Still as lovely as ever.

#4 - RANMA 1/2 (SEASON 2): 9/10

More Ranma, who could complain. Love the introduction of Mousse and there’s just some real great fights in this. Can’t wait for more!

#3 - SIN AND PUNISHMENT: STAR SUCCESSOR: 8.5/10

Extremely badass. Thrilling and non-stop the whole way through. Difficulty sometimes feels a bit uneven but it’s just so much fun the whole way through. Wish it could’ve been a bit longer though, and the story is kinda just there.

Mostly correct yeah, Normal and Hard are the same between English and JP, but JP had a higher difficulty named Maniac that got removed and replaced with English's Easy mode. RD is the one with the wack shit involving story stuff and difficulty though you're right on that front.

#2 - TALES OF XILLIA REMASTERED: 8.5/10

Finally found one of these I really like! Still have some quibbles like bosses still not being great and such but everything else is pretty dang solid. Combat Links are always goated, story is good, cast is fun, good pacing, there's even some songs I like.

#1 - SILENT HILL f: 9.5/10

Some minor monotony from getting all the endings does little to hamper the incredible experience that this game provides. Combat that feels good while still being scary, tied together with a beautiful story that revels in humanity's messiness. Hinako could solo Gilgamesh.

Dizzy’s so cool in Strive. Started picking the game up again around Christmas since I got gifted a Steam copy and she’s been who I’m rocking (though Lucy and Elphelt also seem really fun.) Being able to just turn the game into Guilty Gear On Ice at will fills me with so much joy and whimsy.

MEDIA THREAD 2025 FINAL TALLY:

Average Score: 8
No. of 10s given: 4
Lowest Score given: 4

Good year all around! Very consistent in quality. I beat 28 games which I feel pretty proud of. This year I’m gonna try to read more and generally try to broaden my horizons. Will start 2026 thread tomorrow.

#53 - MARTY SUPREME: 9/10

Maybe god should forbid white boys from having a bit of motion. Immaculate pacing that never stops with its sense of heart pounding tension and anxiety. All star cast with excellent performances with non-stop kinetic script that still feels real and grounded.

#52 - SEVERANCE (S1&S2): 9/10

Didn’t know Ben Stiller had that dawg in him like that. Season 2 was a touch weaker but what a ride. Gorgeous directing and cinematography working hand in hand with an incredibly tight script and wonderfully layered performances. Mark S.’s journey is much like Roxas’s.

#51 - HYOUKA: 9.5/10

Honobu Yonezawa you are an evil man for writing kings of the fumble and nauseating situationships the way you do but also I love you and owe you my life. Just as good as Shoshimin, love the dynamics between the core cast and the mysteries are as fun as ever. I miss you Mery.

To the tune of that Calvin and Hobbes comic: Every Trails game is either Olivier or Renne. Sky FC? Olivier. Zero? Renne. Despite needing to rescue Olivier being a major plot point, Reverie is Renne.

The C in C-Suite no longer stands for Chief but instead Chud. We are ruled by the Chud suite.

Dynazenon is my personal favorite work of Trigger's, I really hope you enjoy it when you eventually get around to it, it's the type of work that ends up settling itself into your bones and spirit before you even realize it, at least for me.

#50 - THE FRAGRANT FLOWER BLOOMS WITH DIGNITY: 8/10

A charming and gorgeous romance series that just needs a tiny bit more oomph. The cast and their dynamics are strong as is the general writing but I hope future seasons allow more open conflict to be present. Sad we didn’t get a kiss at the end.

#49 - FINAL FANTASY 6: 9.5/10

Game considered an all time classic is in fact a classic, more at 11. In all seriousness though I truly loved just about everything going on this one, maybe World of Ruin could’ve been slightly less aimless but that’s a nitpick in a game that earns its status and more.

#48 - THE LAST STORY: 7/10

Gotta love a 7 with soul. Sakaguchi’s first and only Action RPG is as fascinating as it sounds, providing a remarkably rare mixture of 7th gen AAA-isms and old school RPG philosophies that is captivating as it is a bit annoying. Fine story, OST’s a bit dry, neat game

#47 - FINAL FANTASY 5: 8.5/10

Just a delightful and incredibly charming experience the whole way through. Really fun gameplay with the refinements made to the job system and the story is a lighthearted, fun and energetic romp, I was not expecting to become an Exdeath fan. Shoutouts to Gilgamesh.

#46 - TIME CRISIS 3: 8/10

I played this on an arcade with infinite lives and it whipped extreme amounts of ass. The haptics on the gun felt great for this nonstop thrill ride. They got the Uncharted 2 train sequence here. Wild Fang can roundhouse forklifts like nothing else, put that boy in Tekken.
