So, when Dems say is it radical to think people should have a home and a living wage - the answer is yes. Because that would require prioritizing humans.

I could scream about this into the void forever. It just blows my mind that we aren’t united on this issue. That we’re consistently ignoring it. That we’d ever vote for anyone who wasn’t fighting for this change.

And yet, politicians from all parties almost unanimously vote against this. American culture is to lift up the rich and claim it’s helping the poor.

Raising the minimum wage has a ripple effect and helps workers who make more than minimum wage too. This one change can re-build the middle class.

Someone who works 40 hours a week, all year, at minimum wage, makes less than the poverty line, for a one-person family, before taxes ($15,080). That’s inhumane.

If businesses cannot self-sustain and pay workers a humane wage, then they don’t have a successful business. That’s capitalism, baby.

And the longer we let this issue wait, the greater the battle because the difference between the current minimum wage and a livable wage will continue to grow.

We need to stop prioritizing the needs of businesses over the needs of humans. We need to stop fighting with each other and letting the rich keep taking more.

This one issue is popular among both parties, but businesses pay to stop it. If you needed anymore proof that we live in an oligarchy, this is it.
