We cannot continue to trade values and ideals for an illusion of peace, stability, and/or safety.

Because the moderates, the mainstream Dems are complicit in the erosion of our Democracy and our republic. Not through any direct action, but through inaction. And we cannot continue to let that stand if we have any hope for saving our country and our freedoms.

And the Dems, more interested in optics than any sort of actual values or morality, have only continued to capitulate since then. Some are bucking the trend, rocking the boat, and they are promptly chastised and punished. But we need to continue, while we still can, to elect more like them.

The signs of the master plan have been there at least since the Patriot Act. Capitalizing on the fear of an attack on American Soil to pass the piece of legislation which was the most direct attack on personal freedoms in modern history. And the erosions have only continued since then.

As they gave concession after concession to the oppressors who were laying the groundwork with these small steps they eked out to slowly erode the major milestones of progress, and to ensure that they’d gain enough power to make bolder changes, and ensure that they’d keep that power to stop progress

And in today’s politics, the mainstream Democratic Party is the White Moderate, more interested in maintaining the illusion of order and stability, pretending that things still work like they did 30 years ago, not willing to face the fact that the game has changed, slowly, over 3/4 decades
