React solves the same problem with <> </>, allowing a element-like-component to sit in places the HTML5 parser would relocate, like inside a <table>. I thought this to be table stakes for theoretical web components.

I once made a virtual DOM (npm wizdom, koerper) that did exactly and only this. It introduced a node type that was reïfied on the actual DOM as a comment node to anchor a range of elements that could be added, removed, or moved as a group.

I worked at Uber for five years. I can tell you from this experience that these blanket statements distribute a measure of injustice to rank and file individuals and that we can see you in that equation. But, I’d advise (wearily, apologetically) to measure that against the totality of the injustice.
