Watching the last episode of Oogappels is like finishing the last chapter of book you never want to finish but know you have to. It's a series that goes right to your heart and you know that you have experienced the exactly the same storylines in your own way at some point in your own life.

With bus and train around France, I'm finally back in a place I last visited on a school trip somewhere in 1989. Bayeux, Arromanche and hopefully Asnelle tomorrow. This place toyed so hard with my emotions as a 15 year old schoolgirl learning about the atrocities and successes of war.

I think I finally completed my unofficial inburgering in the Netherlands today. This week I made poffertjes for the first time, very successfully too. Today I brought home a square meter of coconut doormat on my bike, perched it on the saddle and walked it home. Here's to the next 13 years in NL.
