What’s your process for learning about a process, place or industry that plays a prominent role in your novel? I recently commented on writing about whitewater kayaking in a writer zoom and instantly got connected to an expert. Put out what you want in the world… you just might get it!!

Anyone use @scrivenerapp.bsky.social? I love this split screen feature where I can have research on one panel and my scene on the other. It keeps me focused on my writing without actually going to the web, where I’m more likely to get distracted. Anyone use this feature?

Who is your writing buddy? Well my dog does keep me company, I do have two writing partners that keep me saying every morning from 7:30 AM till nine. It has been a game changer to have these gals, keeping me accountable. I believe I will meet my goals because of it.

True story, I was telling a friend a story and was trying to make a point by referencing a conversation I heard recently, and it turns out that conversation was apparently in my head because it was from the writing I had done the previous week. I guess my characters really do live in my head.
