I went on to twitter for the first time in ages to see if the Canadian PM has posted about Ukraine (he has), and I made the grave error of scrolling down and checking the comments. Holy hell twitter is a cesspit now. Like, i knew it, but...wow. It's grotesque.

i had to check out the whitehouse FB page to read the comments on the #king post. the vast, vast majority seem to be shocked and dismayed, thank dog, and there are even a reasonable number of people saying "I voted for him, but this is too much". This particular thread made me...screamy?

Today, for the first time in a few weeks, the sun peeked over the mountains beside our home and bathed us in yellow sunlight. For about 90 seconds. Then it tucked itself away again until tomorrow. Pretty joyful.

A friend just now asked about a favourite childhood memory, and it was a bit odd because i was just thinking about this yesterday. Do you have something like this? Something favourite and nostalgic and also kind of mournful and evocative and delicious? 'Tis the season I guess.

Canadians-do you also do this? Realized that we use both metric and imperial for snowfall, but in a very specific way. Snow on the ground? Inches. Future/forecasted snow? cm. We got 10 inches of snow yesterday, forecast for 30cm more. 🇨🇦
