PRESERVING ART IS IMPORTANT AND FASHION IS ART.
The Met Gala is LITERALLY a fundraiser and anyone in development would KILL to have an annual gala this successful. I get that everything sucks, and also, art preservation is expensive and important even under fascism.

I know the Met Gala is ridiculous and we should all enjoy it, but it just bothers me immensely, especially as so many people are suffering right now and we're about to hit a recession and to see this much money and attention paid to this stupidity.
