The world is not zero sum.

Seattle, WA
To be fair, it’s understandable if they think they’re experts in ships sinking at the early start of combat. They have some meaningful first-hand experience there.

Think about what happens to the US if our supply chains die, the future drivers our stock market (what people’s savings and retirement accounts are built on) evaporate, there is major global conflict/war, food becomes scarce, and we have a dictatorial government. Extremely bad things can happen.

Also AI hype deflating is fine. That bubble needs to deflate. But if the planned build outs can’t happen because they can’t physically acquire the chips (even if they had a contract to buy already), the whole thing comes crashing down fast enough to break everything. That + global war will be hell.

So not only is this wildly illegal and immoral, but it creates an acute vulnerability for the US at a particularly precarious time and one in which the average person is already struggling. This is monumentally stupid, treasonous, and shortsighted and could possible end the American era.

Wow, this is super helpful advice to share with someone after they caught covid.

Investing in Microsoft then would have produced a 15x return over the next decade or so, with comparatively very little risk. So not only are his views dumb, his metaphors are too.

Also The Crow soundtrack as well as Hackers. It was a good decade for soundtracks.

As someone with a big record collection who just moved and doesn’t yet have a reasonable storage solution in the new place, I’m beginning to think CDs are the way to go for physical media.

This feels inaccurate.

I have never seen a positive thing from Tim Kaine. He’s at best dead weight for the democrats and more likely is and has been an active hindrance in our efforts to make a better America for everyone.

I tried it the first time and didn’t get more than 10 min into it. I gave it another shot and ended up watching the entire series in one sitting. It’s a great one!

I worked in this specific segment of the EdTech industry and so many of the products are absolutely terrible because they design it foremost to keep eyes on screen for 20 min. Genuinely good practice products exist, but there is so much garbage.

If you’re on Windows you can disable the copilots at the OS level.

You absolute morons. This is such an obviously bad idea it makes one wonder if you’re purposely handing mass censorship power to Trump. You absolute fools.

I saw one of these AI McD’s ads in the US for the same campaign and it was an abomination.

It’s better for China to build their AI in a way that’s reliant on our technology than put all that energy into developing their own competing chip companies…

Do you think we’re magically special and China can’t catch up on hardware if they put their minds and resources on it?

Oh yeah, I think it’s fair to call a lot of pop culture dumb and insipid, but what’s amazing is the breadth of content everyone has access to and the ease of creating and sharing. If you look for it, there’s absolutely incredible artistry everywhere. Originality can find its audience more than ever.

This actually makes sense. There is an increasing shortage of inspectors and it’s becoming a difficult situation. At the same time, new startups in the space have shown really effective inspection technology that can more frequently inspect things and send in a human where needed before big issues.

This is such a weird take by that garbage tradcaster b/c it’s all so observably wrong. You can now get way higher quality food at scale, it’s probably the best time ever for entertainment, infrastructure is more robust, etc. Affordability is party tougher because there is so much more to acquire.

I think the right meatballs could change this opinion.

Sawant will always be such an embarrassing aspect of Seattle political history.

Probably to match how wildly slippery the iPhone 17 pro is now with the aluminum. The previous models were a lot more functional to hold when going caseless.

Tim Kaine is a major reason we’re here. Helped tank 2016 by an abysmal and whiny debate performance and then harmed Tim Walz’s brand by going on SNL in 2024. One of the most anemic Dem senators in recent history, he can’t retire fast enough.
