You can say meritocracy, sounds great, but their words don’t align to their actions.
1. Those is power do not fit the definition.
2. The system is based on favoritism, cronyism and nepotism.
3. Laws are being removed that actually assisted in allowing true meritocracy.

By my count, Trump has already rescinded three of Biden's executive orders promoting LGBTQ equality: 13988 (broadly protecting LGBTQ people's civil rights under federal law), 14021 (protecting LGBTQ rights in education), and 14075 (affirming LGBTQ equality in health care + protecting LGBTQ youth).
