Mysticana is the Game of the Week! My recent obsession has been "Game Systems", sets of components that can be used to play lots of different games.

Mysticana works like a video game console, where little expansion packs (a few extra cards) let you play specific adventures.

The Queen’s Interests and the Mysicana foundation deck have fantastic illustrations by Filip Popovic. It’s so cool seeing the final product after working with my prototype!

Cards from the Mysticana foundation deck and The Queen’s Interests laid out against a gray background. Mysticana cards are laid out in a row and include illustrations of fantasy beings and locations. They have ranks, and suits based on elements of earth, fire, and water.

During the game, the queen card moves along this row of cards toward one player or the other. If the queen reaches an end of the row, that player get to score the row as an additional hand at the end of the round.
