So I figured out why I have been having trouble with the borrowed FT100 on SSB - the PTT is screwed up and it drops out of transmit if you push the button fully. Basically, not functional. Borrowed radios not a great idea.

Becoming curious as to how I'll approach an antenna for 10, 12, 15, and 17 meters once Santa brings my Xiegu G90. Apparently those are really the DX bands.

I basically have no HF radio right now (I actually have three, but 1 is broke, 1 is bad, and 1 is with Santa) so I'm practicing Morse Code....

One thing I'm really looking forward to with the G90 is trying 80m. I could easily try it with the (tr)uSDX, too, but just hadn't really thought of it.

The loss of my precious (tr)uSDX radio to apparent finals failure has contributed significantly to a depressive funk, because I hate the FT100 and won't get to use my G90 until Christmas.

And so I find my first disappointment with the G90 that I'll take out of the box on Dec 25... No CW memory keying :( I have zero luck at keying RBN manually, so this will sorta be a let down.

The radio box has sat mostly unused for the past week, and not much for the week before that. It's complicated, but it's definitely not lack of interest. Just some other priorities.

So probably for the next 5 years, or longer, I'll have to brag and postulate about the Xiegu G90, especially trying to prove it better than the FT891, which I will NOT be getting "for Christmas".
I'll miss those other 80w more and more as time goes on, I'm sure.
