Today I had the privilege of representing @glos-police.bsky.social at the UK Police Memorial tribute to the 300 men & women from policing who died protecting the home front during the Second World War.

This afternoon I visited Stow on the Wold, part of the Cotswold & Stroud local policing area of Gloucestershire Constabulary.
It was lovely to meet PC Alison Palfrey who retires next week after 30 years service with the force. Thank you Alison for your service & enjoy your well deserved retirement!

What a vibrant & inclusive school where pupils of all abilities & staff can learn and grow together. Really good to be out meeting our local communities!

Good to meet the newly elected panel with Chief Constable Maggie Blyth & set out the national policing threats & local issues in the county.

We then heard from the brilliant Meena Kumari & Savita V. about their work with the community in Leicestershire.

Then Candice Walker from the Home Office & Kara Kane from the Cabinet Office talked about possible government next steps to prevent this ever increasing problem.

It was particularly poignant to have Micala & Lee Trussler with us, the parents of 15 year old Holly Newton who was horrendously murdered by her boyfriend.

I popped down this afternoon to meet the Women's Support Network, Unison, LGBTQ+ network, neurodiversity network, Gloucestershire Ethnic Minority Association & He4She.
