When I visited Germany I went to a shop called "Der Kleinste USA Store Der Welt" (The smallest USA store in the world). That allowed my friend and I to do a direct taste comparison between American and German Dr Pepper.

Spoiler: American Dr Pepper is much sweeter. After drinking the German version for a bit, it tastes way too sweet.

I would definitely recommend watching it before getting too much spoiled. It's an amazing show made by one of my favorite creators. Also the main character is a lesbian and she's played by Rhea Seehorn.

I thought that was transferred through french kissing and/or licking donuts like in Plur1bus.

I think it was the other way around. CDs and CLV Laserdiscs slow down the rotation speed around the outer tracks to keep the linear speed the same. It would make sense for magnetic discs to do the same

I know it's possible. I'm just thinking of driver developers being lazy and making the assumption that if the first track isn't data that the disc just contains audio. Heck, I could see myself making that assumption if I were writing drivers back in the day.

It may be the case that some older CD-ROM drives wouldn't recognize a data track if it wasn't the first one. I don't know that for a fact but it seems plausible.
