According to 2011 census, 85% of citizens from this region identify as Hungarians. However, their political views are noticeably different than those of Hungarian majority or, as the foreign results surprisingly say, of Romanian diaspora. Doesn't prove anything, but definitely interesting

Řešení je mít nejdřív opravdu kvalitní základní školy nabízející dostatečné možnosti rozvoje všem žákům (to teď fakt nemáme, a ani k tomu nesměřujeme😕). Až je mít budeme, možná začne nějaká diskuze o rušení přijímaček dávat smysl.

Tím, že se gymply zruší, se kvalita základek zázračně skokově nezvýší - pokud se to vůbec povede, bude to za 10+ let. To znamená generaci nadaných dětí bez adekvátního vzdělání.

In February, I presented our research on seasonal changes in habitat preferences of migratory birds at Czech zoological conference Zoologické dny.
It was a great opportunity to discuss it - I'm looking forward to even more future discussions next time… and maybe even some collaborations!

Even though we didn't spot the lynx, it was a great trip - we saw many great bird species, and our #trailcam also recorded some nice animals. We also tried lots of great Spanish #food and #tapas! So, at least we all definitely have a good reason to come back again one day.

This region really loves the Iberian lynx - and you can see it everywhere. I was really surprised by the level of #wildlife tourism. However, if people really don't disturb the lynxes, I can imagine that such publicity can help their protection and the conservation of whole region.

Last weekend, I went a little south of Spain with our little fellow Czech group. The goal was to see the distinctly different Spanish landscape, ecosystems, and animals that live here - and also, if possible, spot the Iberian #lynx 🐱

And, surprisingly, even #birds! Their winter diversity and abundance can be higher around these manure heaps - it is one of the many small things that can though help with the heterogeneity of the agricultural landscape.

These small heaps of manure spread across the fields provide perfect substrate for its fruiting body. But these mushrooms are not alone! Beside them, organic manure also helps a lot of other species.

Už od této neděle - 1. prosince - můžete znovu mapovat rehky domácí a zapojit se do projektu "Rehci v zimě".

Vláda ptáka roku 2024 se sice chýlí ke konci, ale v mapování zimujících "kominíčků" chceme pokračovat i dál.👇👇

Little Madrid diary 3
Out of many species that are super-hard to see in Czechia, yet are absolutely common here, vultures are truly exceptional for me. I still remember the first time I went to the supermarket here, and one flew just about 20m above my head!🤯Though I didn't see one that close again🙁
