Going to forgive myself for the day I’ve had. Things were beyond my control and my body was screaming for help. It will be better tomorrow.

It’s very important to get to know ones country.

I’m forever grateful to Drum magazine and the drum decade lads.

My friend and I were talking about loneliness and how as the evening of the twenties draws near, living alone isn’t as appealing anymore. To know there’s someone else in the house brings so much solace.

I bought an instax printer because I don’t want to share the Polaroids that come from the camera 🫥😶‍🌫️

I started reading this book this afternoon. I’m three chapters in and listen, my girl Edie is stressing me okay 😅.

The joys of reading never end for me. Sure reading slumps come, but they also go and for now I’m reading and it’s exciting again.

I finished my bookclub read for the discussion this month. Bookclub is this Saturday. I made cue cards for the discussion. Very exciting. I will share thoughts after our discussion.

I also think writing at this hour inspires the most beautiful sentences in a piece. Little to no editing required. The city and the mind are still. Like a photograph.

It’s also cold as hell in Joburg. I briefly went outside last night and I could swear I felt rain droplets.

It had taken me an unreasonably long time to watch the full third season of #whitelotus but we continue.

Here are the galleries I always go to. I was too moved in the other galleries to take pictures of them on the outside but the weather was good and the art was even better. Midweek gallery hopping will always be my favourite thing. I engage with the art much better.

I find a day during the week where I go see some art around the city. Usually exhibitions are there for a month so I visit my frequent galleries monthly and follow their social’s and check websites for any new exhibitions.

I want to feel safe walking in my city. It’s such a beautiful one at that.

Beloved by Tony Morrison was our bookclub read for February. I missed it and it’s the only book I’m behind on.

It is also because of this picture that I am going back to covering my books with the adhesive clear cover 📚.

Just started this book. I’ve seen a lot of reactions to it about being fabulously torturous. I guess this tortured soul is about to be tortured more. Although so far it’s really good. #books
