So guilty. I've been reading too much, lately, jumping out of one great author's work right into another's. As if I have no morals about it. I'm pure as hell, but my mind is a shameless slut.

I sensed her first
In the periphery
suddenly
in city streets
heads & shoulders
sidewalk, feet

The ghost
of a scent
the buzz
intoxicant
I could not see
Where she went
around the corner
across the border
beyond the order

My mind & soul
as to explode
My muse slipped off
to wherever
such things go

Fascinating! The human senses take in data at a rate of a billion bits per second, but the human brain can think at a rate of only about 10 bits per second, about speaking pace.

We think very slowly. Data is coming in 100 million times faster than we can think.

The low sun
Of a winter beach
Quiet, yet powerful
Something swelling,
Rising up from
Somewhere private
Deep in the heart
Almost
Unseeable
Storm washed clean

Some natural events spin the mind, like a strong poem brought to life in water and flesh.

I've seen a tsunamis turn this protected harbor into a great & violent river which changes direction. A large swell did that yesterday (23 foot swell at 22 seconds interval). It's astonishing to see the power.
