Yeah no. And don't really care if someone who's ready to throw anyone under a bus to support their own lack of principles is ever right. A broken clock is right twice a day, but it still belongs in the bin

Cenk has been getting ever more on the outrage grift for the last five years. He's actually on my actively ignore list now

Despite all their attempts to the contrary, the UK is just fundamentally aristocratic

Yes. At least in the eyes of the algorithm. Remember, "On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog"

Just remember they all hated ST:Disco, and I think it's incomparably great.

I literally came here just to clarify the context. This post is somehow, ineffably, perfect

OMG, there are multiple industries where the labour practices are so abusive that they are crying out for labour organisation... But nobody is dying, just burning out, having anxiety, substance abuse and other psychological problems from trying to cope with it.

I loved Disco so much that I'm afraid to start watching SNW...

I'm waiting to see how they back out of the latest peace deal when their bluff gets called

Call it by is proper name: Fascism. The exercise of power to demonstrate power, and law that justified the increased use of state power is the essential core of fascist governmental philosophy

Outside of Ireland I think it is more pejorative than it is inside. Certainly I know a lot of people who refer to themselves as Paddy, either because their name is Pádraig, or because that's just what they call their Irishness. like other ethnic terms: a lot depends on by whom and how it is uttered

The point being that there's a LOT of energy and space and resources available which we are not using.

Unfortunately, using them takes us into all the old questions about the economics, ethics, philosophy, and logic of Empires.

It's been fine and with far more attention to detail than has been shown by most of the back-of-the-envelope calculations in this thread. TL;DR - mass isn't the limiting feature, basic materials science is.

Genuinely, I am SO THANKFUL for _Lower Decks_ and _Discovery_ for keeping the true vision alive. But I am afraid there is no saving _Star Wars_. It really looks like the alt-right fascist fanboyz have won Disney's heart

I started to really feel like something was wrong with American culture once The Discourse became all about Dark Side redemption arcs. And then Klingons became sexy. It's like people want to know they can be bad guys and still come out as a good guy in the end.

Oh I think I have to nit pick here. I agree that most things can, but not necessarily with the should. Robots are certainly cheaper and more durable than humans, so if cost is the only factor, then you'd be right. But the returns of human missions are greater and not just in PR.
