Today was Health Alliance for Austin Musician's quarterly hearing clinic. HAAM connects musicians to health services - in this case Waterloo Audiology, who donates a day of services every quarter.

At 0:23 of this clip, I'm in the back of the room, snarling traffic.

Interesting read. Fully-equipped self-driving cars (i.e. not Tesla's video-only system) are ~80% less likely to cause an accident. This is based on 50 million miles of data in real cities.

We just returned from a week of diving and snorkling in Bonaire. The dive highlight of the trip (and my 30+ years of diving) was this huge "bait ball" school of Bigeyed Scad, being herded by some hungry Jack fish.

Here's a fun, and geeky, and maybe terrifying way to kill some time: Two-minute chats with a random stranger, after which you guess if they're a live human or an AI bot. I got four out of ten correct.

We hired professionals to do the waterproof backing board, curb, and the sloped floor.

It took two skilled pros a day and a half.

It could've been just a day, but I was helping.

And now, the tiling. Probably done by me.

My professional remodeling slogan is "I may be slow, but I'm expensive".

I don't often post links to other content.

Jury Duty, tomorrow 8:30am.

At least some parts of government churn ahead as normal. I guess that's encouraging.

Hey y'all, look at my big new hole.

We're ripping out the 80's era soaker tub and creating a large walk-in shower.

Relocating the drain from the tub position to a shower position required renting a jackhammer, and doing a questionable amount of damage to the foundation slab.
