I'm quite aware how future oriented I am. I mean some of my classmates are living in the moment with the "we'll see what future brings us" mentality, meanwhile I have planned the big picture until April 2025. The details will get clearer with time.

I understand it's sad when you don't get to see the northern light on your Very Expensive All Inclusive Vacation to Lapland, but weather does whatever it wants. Currently it's been snowing continuously for four days and it won't stop just so you could take fun photos with sky lights.

It's been a week since I stepped on the train to Kolari. I've been learning ice fishing, driving a snowmobile, and various other cool things. Today I saw my first revontulet.

I bought new winter shoes (mom gave me money :3) and today after walking 12km I'm not sure if they're good for me. They look nice, they are warm and the toebox is wide enough.... But they are HEAVY. They are most likely perfect for Lapland but also for the wet snow winters in the south... saffalskdj

I got the nature guide place in Lapland!! I'm very excited but also a bit annoyed I had to actually call them if they take me or not, since the train tickets got 20€ more expensive in the couple of days...

This has been a weird year when it comes to weather. September was unnaturally warm, October has been surprisingly cold (like around 0C, mostly dipping to freezing) and now the ground is white and it's not even November.

On Monday I had the interview for the Lapland nature guide place and today I had a job interview for my local outdoor lodge. I think both went quite well and I'm positively surprised how, when I told I might be gone from November to January, the outdoor lodge person was just "ok!"

I've been looking for on-the-job trainee places where I could get experience on working in the nature (I decided to also look into nature guide studies) and now I got an interview for a place in Lapland where I could guide winter experiences 😍

I'm kind of sad I didn't take my foraging equipment with me on this relaxing forest walk. I have enough mushrooms at home but there is so manu Lactarius camphoratus (Candy caps) and Craterellus tubaeformis (yellowfoot) 😭 🍄📷
