I wonder if GenAI is making the “application” side of bioinformatics much more accessible.

Developing bioinformatic methods and applying bioinformatic analyses are still very different activities, even though both are essential.

For context: I’ve seen both approaches used legitimately.

I hope other journals will start adopting this practice as well. I don’t see why paying researchers a fair compensation for their work would reduce comment quality or increase bias.
